Weekly Garden Box — Whatever the Garden Gives, Texas-Grown
Eight to twelve pounds of mixed produce, straight off ten acres of sunny days and cool nights — whatever the garden's putting out this week. Every box is harvested the morning of your pickup, packed in the shade, and held in the cooler till you arrive. We don't pre-pack the night before — not how we do things around here. The difference between this morning and yesterday is the difference between a tomato that smells like a tomato and one that doesn't.
What's inside shifts with what's actually ready, same as it's always been on a place like this. Late spring brings arugula, radishes, and the first asparagus and pea shoots. Summer heat fills the box with heirloom tomatoes, summer squash, peppers, eggplant, and basil. Once fall eases in, expect hard squash, kale, and the kind of carrots that taste better after a frost. Winter stays heavy on roots, brassicas, and butternut squash. And there's always a surprise tucked in — kohlrabi, garlic scapes, pole beans, whatever the garden decided to do that week.
Every box gets a handwritten card listing what's inside, plus a recipe for whatever we figure you might not know what to do with. If you end up with more of one thing than you can use, swap with a neighbor — that's half the point of doing this CSA-style anyway.
